A Town Day

Moves to Historic Sweet Auburn Avenue
March 15th – The B-AWARE FOUNDATION receives a proclamation signed by the entire Atlanta City Council!

February 1st – We received another proclamation signed by The Fulton County Commissioner!

Atlanta, GA (June 1st, 2010) – The largest outdoor community health outreach awareness festival and concert in the city of Atlanta deemed by State Representative Kathy Ashe and given its' own House Resolution (1658) has partnered with The Spirit of Sweet Auburn.  "We made the move to the Historic Sweet Auburn District in an attempt to bring awareness directly to the community. We hold this event annually, to convey the message of health awareness to the community; this opprtunity allows us to lower the prices on everything from tickets to vendor booths. We aim to make the entire city AWARE. We wouldn't want anyone to miss out on receiving the message of AWARENESS  based on the cost ticket prices, eventually   A-TOWN DAY will be a free event for the city of Atlanta," excitedly states the founder of A-Town Day, Brian Glasper.
Beginning Saturday, June 26th at 12pm, the family can enjoy fun-filled activities, food and music while receiving free health screenings and information. With over 7,000 in attendance last year at Turner Field, the goal is to raise funds with the proceeds going towards The Diabetes Association of Atlanta & The B-AWARE Foundation. Children 6 and under are free and general admission is only $5. Organizations taking part include: The Diabetes Association Of Atlanta, Atlanta Fire Department, The Red Cross, Fulton County Environmental Health, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, Fulton & DeKalb County Health Departments, Fulton County Human Resources, & Aid Atlanta to name a few. A-TOWN DAY also has additional sponsors like McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, V-103, Creative Loafing, Rolling Out, & Peachtree TV helping to spread the word! Entertainment will include performances from artists from every type of music genre – Hip Hop, R&B, Spoken Word, Rock, & Gospel that will share health care and environmental statistics before each performance. With over 100 artists performing – we will be delivering over 100 statistics through out the event. Spreading AWARENESS!
